What is it about social media that has us all so captivated? What is it about social media that has everyone fawning over their computers, cell phones, and now even their tablets to check the newest status update of their coworkers or even favorite celebrities? What is is about social media that has everyone sneaking a peak at their Facebook during class or a meeting? What is it about social media that is just so damn appealing?

What is it about social media period?

Social media is all about connection. Social media is all about finding friends, connecting with long lost friends, and meeting new friends. Social media has us chasing our social lives around at the click of a mouse. We are constantly updates about everything and businesses even use it for public relations. Social media has made us slaves to the internet and because of social media we love it.

Social media provides human beings with exactly what they want: a feeling of belonging. There is a place on the internet where every breed of person can go. There is a place on the internet where anyone and everyone can find a best friend that they can relate to. The internet is the place for kids in the United States to talk to their best friends over seas. Facebook PR makes it easy for a company to interact with consumers all the time. The internet allows our social media addiction to grow and grow and we have no desire to stop it.

Social media websites have become the most popular websites on the world wide web. From the comfort of our own homes, our school desks, or where ever our cell phones have service, we have our social media addiction right along side us and we wouldn’t change it for the world. This addiction has grown so much that there are now social media agencies.

Social media has become our present and is rapidly becoming our future of communication. It is used for entertainment and commercial use, like public relations. It makes talking to everyone easy. It makes connecting to our friends simple and fun and we love it.
