I really wanted to share this article I found on Mashable.com It says so much more than I on the importance of Monitoring your Social Media campaigns for your brand… One point that they overlook is Brand Reputation and how to respond to negative press.  Keep that in mind as you read this article to understand how it is best to have a Manged Service for your business to respond in real time.

Call 815-331-0771 for a FREE consultation on SM Reputation Management.

Whether you are actively developing a social media presence for your brand or just dipping your toe in the deep and ever-changing ocean of social media chatter, you probably realize that monitoring and measurement are quite important. Although there is no shortage of social media monitoring tools, each one is a bit different in its approach, methodology, metrics, depth of analysis, channels measured, reports and UI. The existence of this many tools and the fragmentation of the tools market is evidence of the fact that the space is not quite mature, and doesn’t yet have a set of agreed-upon metrics and best practices. SEO is an acronym for Search Engine Optimization. What does that mean? Well, when you enter a search term for anything you are looking for in a search box, you are directed to a new page that has websites with those words in the website. How the internet knows where to look for those websites is dependent on how active, how long and how many others have visited the site that has those search words on it.

We call the mechanism that searches the internet, Search Engines. Search Engines are actually ran by huge companies such as Google, Yahoo, Bing and other smaller not so well known companies.

The importance of SE Optimization is predominantly due to the fact that the better a website has maximized the standards set by Google, Yahoo, or Bing, the more likely the website will be on “the first page of Google”. Being on the first page of Google will translate to more people will see, visit, and ultimately buy at that website.

If your website is not on the first page when your potential customers are looking for what you have, they will go to your competition.

So, as you can see, to be an effective website that converts its visitors it must have Search Engine Optimization. If you know how to maximize this process in your Internet Marketing then you will be successful.

If you have no knowledge of how to put this to work for you,

Please call 815-331-0771 for a FREE Competitive Analysis of your website.

Social Media is the heart of the activity that happens on the Internet today. There are various tools used to create what we call Social Media. These tools consist of feeds, forums, blogs, microblogs. Most notable are Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and MySpace.

When the Internet first started, people used emails as memos and notes to co workers. That evolved into communicating with others outside of work who also were on the Internet. At the time, there were no cell phones or wireless, etc. After emailing became popular the emergence of Chat rooms where people could talk instantly with others from all over became popular.

The small chat rooms became so crowded that websites were developed around certain topics where people could join with a moderator. These forums were the beginning of Social Media in its current form. As technology advanced the formation of the first true “Social Media” site came to be. MySpace was born.Myspace used not only text as communication but more importantly a new media, the digital photo. The interest in sharing everything evolved then to videos

You probably have heard of YouTube and if you haven’t you probably have received emails for you to see video that are linked to Youtube. You probably have seen a YouTube video on websites. While photo sharing and video creating were happening, people started to blog on their own sites where they no longer needed to be moderated.

All this sharing has created what we now know as the “Social” part of Social Media. The Social being the people that have created communities online and the media being the microblog, blog, photos and video. If your business is a part of any of these communities then they will be accepted and supported by the community.

So as Tina Williams says:

Build your community around your business and your community will build your business around you!

Market research is a key step to take before you start any project. This kind of preparation can make all the difference in the world when it comes to how successful you are. If you haven’t considered doing market research to this point, it’s time to get things off the ground!

Of course, you might be curious as to how this is done. A great idea is to take a look at what the competition is doing. They have likely done market research as well, so this can give you a head start. Short of spying on them in real life (not recommended!) you’re going to have to digitally spy. That just means evaluating which keywords they are trying to rank for, how their site is set up, and where they are ranking in the search engines. Read the rest of this entry

There is a recent study showed that quite a few business owners were unsatisfied with the online marketing vendor they engaged. Some were cheated; others were mislead, and most failed to comply with their requirements. These days, it is quite difficult to find a trustworthy and competent web development company. So, you have to be extremely careful when choosing your e-business vendor.

So here are the warning signs that business owners need to be careful of in choosing a website vendor.

1. The Website Vendor Has a Poor Reputation

You should look at the online marketing website vendor’s track record, portfolio, customers’ testimonials and history. All these information can give you an idea into how the online marketing website vendor handles transactions, as well as of their after-sales service. Reputation and credibility are essential, especially in today’s volatile market.

2. The Website Uses Outdated Technological Tools

Functionality is an essential aspect in online marketing websites; and technological tools are essential in choosing a vendor. The technological tools used by your website vendor must be updated, pro-active and secure.

Find an online marketing vendor that understands that web development has moved on to a new phase. Websites are no longer mere tools for commerce or information. It has evolved into a platform for communication — real-time or otherwise.

Find an online marketing vendor also comprehends the fact that new security holes are found in web applications even after testing and launch. This means that there may be some bugs that could occur after online marketing web applications are released. Thus, security patch updates frequently emerge. They acknowledge that is the job of web developers to keep applications up to date as security patches are released and new security concerns are discovered.

Also, find a reliable online marketing website vendor that can offer website packages that are made to cater to various businesses needs.
